About the author

Jane Cochrane trained as an architect at the Architectural Associate in London.  As an architect, she worked principally on existing buildings, at a housing association and as a Conservation Architect.  For several years she taught at the Bower Ashton School of Art in Bristol.  She writes, paints, draws and sometimes makes pots as well.  Together with her Greek-speaking husband, Alec Kazantzis, she repaired an old house in Ithaca.  She has been visiting the island since 1982.
