About the author
Jane Cochrane trained as an architect at the Architectural Associate in London. As an architect, she worked principally on existing buildings, at a housing association and as a Conservation Architect. For several years she taught at the Bower Ashton School of Art in Bristol. She writes, paints, draws and sometimes makes pots as well. Together with her Greek-speaking husband, Alec Kazantzis, she repaired an old house in Ithaca. She has been visiting the island since 1982.
